Product Description
The all new, state-of-the-art, DB 100 is the only doorbell and intercom signaler that requires no wires and can be installed in seconds. Unlike competing models, the DB 100 is not triggered by sound, so annoying false alarms are a thing of the past. Other advanced features include: selectable number of flashes (5 or 10), different flash code for front door, rear door, or intercom (requires additional sensor, sold separately), and a built-in chime for hearing members of the family (can be turned off). The DB 100 has a built-in outlet to flash an attached lamp and each sends a signal to all Sonic Alert remote receivers.

My parents live in a huge Erickson retirement community (3000 residents). And when we checked the box to have them install a wireless chime, this is the product they installed. It's worked great for them.Recently, one of my parents had to enter a rehab facility. So I saved some money by purchasing this same model on my own via Amazon. And this one has also worked reliably.Installs in seconds -- just 1 screw into into a wooden doorframe. (or you could use heavy-duty double-sided tape or velcro for a temporary install).My only complaint....when you push the button, there is a clicking noise for about 1.5 seconds, and then the chime sounds. It would've been nice if chime reacted faster to the button press. But otherwise, it works the way I expected it to.

A couple of years ago I was able to fulfill a life long dream in putting a home theater in my home. Long before they were fashionable, I dreamed of having a movie theater in my house. When my wife and I bought our home 5 years ago, one of my main concerns was having the space to do a theater.After a grueling move, painting and some modifications, it was time to start our theater in the basement. To complicate matters, as I like to do I wanted a full bar area and room for me to play with my band.....adding a bathroom was a must, especially with a bar! The walk in shower was another way for me to complicate the project.With so much going on and getting fatigued, I decided I would not need to add wiring for the door bell in the theater/bar area, as I felt that the people who are invited to my home, have my phone number and I don't answer my door for uninvited guest!So Now, I'm in my theater and I did not think that when I would be expecting a package that I would have to sign for, there is no way to hear the door bell! Well this little gem did the trick in a snap! The device hooks up to your existing door bell unit in minutes and it works from quite a distance. My theater is downstairs, through two doors and close to 50 feet away from the chime box and it works like a charm. The device has a sound setting or can be hooked up to a lamp to flash when the door bell sounds. My only gripe is if you ring the door bell multiple times quickly it doesn't always receive every signal, but I am alerted of the visitor and I don't have to spend precious hours away from my entertainment space. Life is great! :-)

Average instructions, easy to install, but it only works about 75% of the time. And this is with the transmitter and the receiver only about 12 feet apart, with no obstructions or walls separating them. And this is using the power from the original door bell, so the issue cannot be batteries.Not recommended.
