It has been awhile since I drank Kombucha. I was making some health changes and wanted to start again. The $4 price tag at the health food store per bottly made me think of making my own. The kit provided me everything I needed (other than water and sugar) to get started. It would have been nice to have a decaf version, but no big deal.The SCOBY was very healthy and in excellent shape. Directions were comforting and encouraging and provided clear steps. I brewed the tea, let cool, added the sugar and water and scoby. The linen and rubberband are already provided and you let sit for up to 30 days.I purchased some "Grolsch" type bottles for bottling. Once I strained and bottled I had two scoby's that were ready to go so I began another batch.In summary, everything was provided and of good quality. If you want to get started making Kombucha quickly, this will work.

Great kit for newbies! Quality SCOBY and easy directions! For the newby I highly recommend checking your brew after 3-5 days. I live in SoCal and normally may batches are ready faster (3-5 days). I also use 1.5 cups of sugar for every 3-4 quarts of filtered water and keep the jug near a window. Enjoy & share your brews!!

When I opened my first shipment, I found shards of glass everywhere-- even the scoby was compromised. So I wrote an email to the seller, got a quick response amd was shipped a new kit. The second kit arrived in perfect condition!! I couldn't be happier. I have to say that the quality of this scoby is superbe-- to the point that it may be too big and brew too quickly... but I'll just have to keep an eye on it. This is a perfect starter kit to get you going and far cheaper than other starter kits I've seen. Brewing kombucha is so easy that this is truly all you need, in fact the cost of a jar this size alone is well worth buying the kit!
