I had ordered the Able Tray, made by this same company, and was really thrilled with it, so I got back on Amazon to see what else they had available from Stander. I bought this walker and it is the LIGHTEST, most contemporary looking, least obtrusive walker I have ever seen! It is SO EASY to fold and unfold, I can do it myself, in spite of my pain and mobility problems. It is very well made; strong and sturdy, so I feel safe with my wieght on it, but it still fits easily in the backseat of my car. The Artesian Amber color I ordered is so modern and unusual for a walker that i feel like it is almost a luxury item. I am very happy with this walker!

I ordered this Standers Space Saver Walker, Black Walnut for an Internet-challenged friend whose 88-year-old mother had fallen and was recuperating from surgery to repair a fractured vertebra. So, I have not used it personally. But, the mother reports that she can get through her 19-inch wide bathroom door, where previously she could not because other walkers are too wide. And, also, she relates that she can fold it easily and take it along in the car. The cleverness of the design is mainly the way that the wheels are mounted on the INSIDES of the leg struts rather than on the outsides as in just about any other walker that is available. I recently saw a similar walker at a substantially lower price in Walgreens Pharmacy, and its frame was also 19-inches wide, but the wheels were mounted on the outside, making it too wide to fit through some narrow bathroom doors; also it did not appear to fold up as conveniently. The folding mechanism on this walker is designed for easy use and compactness when folded, and it is light in weight for easy portability, even by a rather frail person.

This walker is cheaply made, the plastic part that is supposed to clamp down to hold the walker open broke off the first time I tried it. I pulled up on it like the instructions said to do before attempting to fold the walker but it broke off when I closed it again. This piece needs to made out something more durable. The walker is still usable as long as you don't push inwards from the sides while using, since a person pushes down it this shouldn't be a problem. I bought it for Mom who uses a walker with wheels and a seat to put on the back of her motorized wheel chair which she uses for long distances. It fits great on the back of the chair and she uses it to get up out of the chair to use the restroom or other tight spaces where the chair won't fit.One other problem with construction is the gliders on the back are not the more slick material usually used but a plain plastic that tends not to glide very well.In short great for a second walker when a compact one is needed.
