This product ( Sammons Preston Posey Peek-a-boo mitts #550052) was ordered to replace a similar product which was not suitable for the purpose. The order was promptly acknowledged, customer notified, the product shipped, and tracked and arrived as estimated. The mitts achieved the purpose intended, which was to prevent the patient from grabbing life support tubes and endangering her life. And so I would give high marks to this transaction.I cannot say the same for the transaction of the product (Meredith Double Security mitts, catalog no. 2814) it replaced. Those mitts were designed with separate finger and thumb slots for each hand, supposedly to prevent the patient from slipping out of the mitts. However, this patient was able to slide each finger from both hands out of the slots, turn the hands over , and grasp the feeding tubes ...a clearly unacceptable design flaw. We would have returned the product but we deemed the return conditions unduly burdensome...use original packaging ( we threw away the box and fillings), get return permission only on Fridays (we live three time zones away), partial not full credit for exchange (other companies give full credit). i would give this transaction half a star.
